Sacramento Co. teen attacked and robbed near Jesuit High School
A Carmichael-area teen was attacked and robbed on his way to football practice early Friday morning, authorities said. The attack was just before 5:30 am near Jesuit High School, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KCRA 3. A parent told authorities their 17-year-old is recovering after being hit with a gun. The Wilhaggen Del Dayo Neighborhood Association said the Rio Americano High School student was riding his scooter to practice when two young men in a car stopped to ask him a question, hit him with a gun, stole his scooter and took off. “Incidents like this are incredibly unusual,” said Kathleen Newton, with the Wilhaggen Del Dayo Neighborhood Association. “We’ve had from time to time, people who’ve had things stolen out of their cars and garages and usually it’s crimes of opportunity that are fairly low level and not endangering anyone’s life.” Now, the neighborhood association is alerting its community of the scary situation. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department did not have information to share with KCRA 3 about what the individuals or the car looked like. The neighborhood association is hoping with the number of security systems in the area, someone may have footage of the crime.
