Firework goes off in car, injures 1 near Sacramento golf course
Two people were taken to the hospital after authorities believe an illegal firework or similar device accidentally went off inside a vehicle in Sacramento. The explosion happened on Saturday around 1 pm in the area of Connie Drive and Roseville Road, which is near Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, the Sacramento Police Department said. Officers found a man with significant non-life-threatening injuries when they arrived at the scene of the explosion, police said. The man was taken to an area hospital as well as the woman passenger. Authorities said she was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No other details were released on what led up to the explosion. Authorities said road closures were in effect on Roseville Road between Connie Drive and Tri Stations Road as they investigated. Roads have since been reopened.
