PITMAN, NJ — The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women’s volleyball weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 25.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NATALIE OGDEN • Rowan University
Fifth Year • Outside Hitter • Downingtown, PA/Bishop Shanahan

Ogden collects her second NJAC Player of the Week honor in the last three weeks after leading Rowan in a 3-1 week, including a 2-0 start in conference action. She averaged 3.39 kills, 2.83 digs, and 3.97 points per set while adding a total of 10 aces. On Tuesday in the NJAC opener, Ogden put up 19 kills, 12, digs and two aces in a tough five-set win over Stockton. She then had the same numbers in Thursday’s victory at Montclair State. At Saturday’s action at Scranton, she racked up 14 kills, five aces and seven digs in the five-set win vs RIT and against the host Lady Royals, Ogden went for nine kills 20 digs in a four-set setback. Ogden currently leads all NJAC players in both kills per set (3.80) and points per set (4.40) on the season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MOLLY ENG • Stockton University
Junior • Defensive Specialist • New Providence, NJ/New Providence

Eng earns her first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after a stellar performance across four matches last week. Eng totaled a team-high 78 digs (4.88/set) and also dished 19 assists from her back row position to help Stockton win two of its four matches. Eng started the week by scooping a career-high 25 digs against Rowan, followed by 10 digs in a sweep of NJCU two nights later. The junior finished the week with 21 and 22 digs against Arcadia and Drew respectively on Saturday. For the season, Eng ranks third in the league and leads the team in digs at 4.18 per set.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

VANESSA HUTCHINSON • Rowan University
Freshman • Defensive Specialist/Libero • King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion

Hutchinson becomes the second Prof this season to earn NJAC Rookie of the Week honors, joining Week 1 honoree Jena Kaul. The rookie put up double-digit digs in the first two conference matches of the season, racking up 18 in a five-set win over Stockton and 12 in a four-set win over Montclair State. For the week, she averaged 3.33 digs per set in conference play. The Profs also played two nonconference matches. In a win over RIT, Hutchinson chipped in six digs and then added six more in a setback to Scranton. Hutchinson currently averages 2.67 digs pet set on the season to rank in the top 15 in the conference.
