Shocking recording reveals Trump’s Insurrection Day story
The former president Donald Trump claims he was “on the late side” of learning about the Capitol protests on January. 6, 2021. The details can be recorded in a brand new audio made public on Monday.
Trump stated to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, who interviewed him to write a new book, that he had been having meetings together with “Mark Meadows and others” however it was until later that day that he switched on a television and found out what was going on at the Capitol. Mark Meadows was his chief of staff.
“I also had … confidence that … the Capitol, who didn’t want these 10,000 people, that they’d be able to control this thing,” Trump claimed, in reference towards the U.S. Capitol Police. “And you don’t realize they did lose control.”
The tape, released in The New York Times, aired on CNN. The day before, Trump delivered a speech on the Ellipse in front of the White House, encouraging supporters to take to the Capitol in protest of his Trump’s defeat in the presidential election. The lawmakers met to confirm the outcomes.

Following the Capitol riot, Trump released a video in which he urged his supporters to “go home” and that “we need to have law and order.” Trump has come under fire for having not communicated this message to his supporters sooner and the duration has been a key subject for committee members on Jan. 6-based committee.
Haberman’s new book, Confidence Man: The making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America, is set to release Tuesday. The book Haberman provides a number of details about how the Trump administration, and one of them is concerning the way Trump internally threatened to get access to her cell phone data to track leakers in the White House.
The book claims Trump had considered dismissing White House aides Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner and announcing their departure on social media. Trump has denied the allegations on Friday.
