MUNCIE, Ind. — We’re nearly done through the 2022 IHSAA volleyball state championships.
Three new champions have been crowned in 1A (Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian), 2A (Wapahani) and 3A (Providence) with one more state championship trophy still up for grabs. Bookmark (and refresh) this page to stay up-to-date on all the scores, stats and recaps from every match:

Class 4A State Championship: Hamilton Southeastern 1, Yorktown 1
HSE jumped out to an early 10-5 lead in Set 1, and Yorktown head coach Stephanie Bloom was forced into a second timeout with her team trailing 16-9.
The teams went back and forth during the new few points, eventually settling at 22-15 when HSE head coach Jason Young called his first timeout. The Royals took control afterwards to win the first set 25-17, led by Avery Hobson’s six kills.
Yorktown came out rejuvenated in the beginning of Set 2, taking a quick 8-3 lead that forced an HSE timeout. The Tigers defended remained stout in the following sequence, forcing another Royals timeout with them trailing 14-6, and Yorktown eventually won 25-13.
Both teams’ set loss was their largest of the season.

Class 3A State Championship: Providence 3, Bellmont 1
Bellmont was able to put together a run late in the first set but it was not enough as Providence won the first set 25-15.
The Pioneers opened up the second set on an 8-0 run and the Braves slowly rallied back before eventually falling 25-16.
The third set was tightly contested, with Bellmont earning the 25-22 win by scoring five of the last six points.
Providence returned to form in the fourth set after the teams went back in forth in the first half, winning 25-16 for the program’s first state championship since 2015.
Three Pioneers — Abby Julius, Lilly Kaiser and Makenzie Wagner — led the way with at least 14 kills each. The Braves were led by Hailey Cole and Delaney Lawson with 15 and 13 kills, respectively.

Class 2A State Championship: Wapahani 3, Linton-Stockton 1
The teams went back and forth through the first 12 points before Wapahani took an 11-6 lead after going on a 5-0 scoring run, forcing a Linton-Stockton timeout. The Raiders eventually built a 17-10 advantage before the Miners responded with an 8-3 run, forcing a timeout from Wapahani head coach Kati Weir.
Her girls responded well thereafter, finishing in a corridor to take the first set 25-18. Raiders senior Camryn Wise led the way with seven kills in the frame.
Linton-Stockton came out firing early in Set 2, taking a 5-1 lead to force a Wapahani timeout. The Miners maintained their defensive prowess and led by as much as 18-9 and eventually 24-17, but the Raiders stayed in it and forced a timeout from Linton-Stockton with the score 24-21.
But the Miners’ early play proved good enough and they won Set 2 25-22, evening the match at 1-1. Taryn Thuis and Becca Robbins entered the locker room with a combined 13 blocks.
Wapahani responded at the start of Set 3, forcing an early Miners timeout after taking a 9-3 advantage, but the Raider kept up the pace and forced another Linton-Stockton timeout up 15-4.
Wapahani’s lead grew to as big as 22-9, which the Miners responded to with six straight points. But the Raiders rebounded after a timeout and closed out the set to win 25-15, taking a 2-1 advantage in the match.
Wapahani dominated the final frame, 25-8, to win the state championship 3-1. Wise finished with a match-high 22 kills, and tied teammate Reese Baker, who was named the IHSAA Class 2A Mental Attitude Aware winner, with five aces.
The Miners were led by Audrianna Hale (eight kills, 11 digs), Robbins (11 blocks) and Thuis (nine blocks).

Class A State Championship: Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian 3, Tecumseh 2
Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, for the second time in school history, is a state champion. Down 2-1, the Braves rallied to win in five sets.
Tecumseh took the first set 25-21 but Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian answered with a dominant, 25-13, victory in the second set. Tecumseh responded with an equally as dominant, 25-12, third-set victory to pull ahead 2-1. Blackhawk pulled away early in the fourth set and held off a Tecumseh rally to win, 25-20, and force a fifth set. It was all Blackhawk in the final set, as the Braves won 15-5 to secure its first volleyball state championship since 2016.
Blackhawk was led by Allie Boyer (17 kills, 10 digs, five blocks), Abbie Cresse (11 kills, seven blocks), Delaney Kintz (nine blocks), Leena Leichty (40 assists) and Emi Wood (19 digs).
Tecumseh was led by Brianna Marx (15 kills), Ava Kissel (12 kills), Jenna Donohoo (10 kills, 14 digs), Katelyn Marx (16 digs), Payge Johnson (27 assists, 10 digs), Lydia Wilson (10 digs ) and Emily Hall (15 assists).
The Class A IHSAA Mental Attitude award winner was Tecumseh senior Brianna Marx.
