Sunday forecast for Sacramento rain, Sierra snow, CIM weather

Wet weather continues across Northern California on Sunday. The rain will continue off and on throughout Sunday across the Valley, and a winter storm warning will remain in effect for the Sierra. Here’s what our weather team says you can expect:Valley rainThe region should see a break in the rain by Sunday mid-morning. But there should be some longer sunny day breaks compared to Saturday. There is a chance for thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon around 4 pm Monday morning there will be an uptick in rain showers. Sierra snow chain restrictions have been issued for the main Sierra roads like Interstate 80, Highway 50, and Highway 88. The snow will continue falling off and on throughout the day if you’re above 4,500 feet in elevation. Snow levels will drop below 5,000 feet in the morning to about 3,800 feet by Monday morning. Here’s what our weather team says you can expect:

Valley rain

The region should see a break in the rain by Sunday mid-morning. But there should be some longer sunny day breaks compared to Saturday. There is a chance for thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon around 4 pm
