FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — Two people are dead after colliding with a big rig near Sanger Saturday afternoon.

CHP officers were called to the intersection of E. North and De Wolf Avenues around 1:30 pm to find a Nissan Altima and Freightliner Truck involved in the crash.

According to CHP, the driver of the car, 24-year-old Ray Rodarte of Del Rey pulled out into the path of the big rig.

Rodarte and his female passenger, 24-year-old Ayala Gonzales of Fresno were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Officers do not believe alcohol and drugs played a factor in the crash.
