FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – The Fresno Mission is taking action to serve a hot Thanksgiving meal for those who need it most this year.
On Tuesday evening, the turkey and all the ingredients were prepared.
The mission is expected to serve approximately 400 to 500 holiday meals.
It’s just one of many dinners for anyone who walks through the door.
“We welcome people who stay with us, people in our community or people who just needed one meal for the night to have this special experience as we hand out the full Thanksgiving offer,” said Matthew Dildine. CEO of Fresno Mission.
Fresno Mission staff say the number of people in need has increased this year compared to last year.
At the height of the pandemic last year, many resources were available to help the needy and the homeless.
But this year many of those resources have been used up.
