Fresno Unified Board of Trustees votes to reprimand Slatic a second time

FRESNO, Calif. (KGPE) – On Wednesday night, the Fresno Unified Board of Trustees voted 5-1 to reprimand Trustee Major Terry Slatic. The only voice against the censorship was Slatic himself.

The vote came after Slatic caused a stir at a board meeting in August when he refused to stop talking, resulting in the board meeting ending prematurely.

As Slatic is again censored, he loses some of his privileges as a trustee of Fresno Unified. Slatic says he continues to work to help the students and that the censorship efforts are not upset.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Slatic said during the meeting before the no-confidence vote. “I’m staying here and working to get the children into class.”

Board of Trustees President Valerie Davis says a second censorship will hopefully change Slatic.

“I really think Trustee Slatic is better,” said Davis.
