Suspect crashes into patrol car while chase in downtown Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – Fresno police arrested a man after a car chase that began with an arrest warrant.

Authorities say it started near Saginaw and Thorne when they saw a 25-year-old man they knew had an active warrant.

When more officers arrived, the suspect was asked to get out of the car to arrest him. The police say the man drove away.

A brief chase ensued and the suspect drove a stop sign, forcing the police to end the chase for safety reasons.

Near Fedora and Garland, police say the suspect has pulled into an alley and is approaching him. The suspect then put the car in reverse and crashed into one of the patrol cars.

The chase finally ended at Harvard and Del Mar when the suspect’s car became inoperable. No one was injured in the persecution.

Police arrested the man on the warrant but said he is now likely to face further charges.
