2 Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies shoot, kill man after domestic call

A man was shot and killed by two Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies who responded to a domestic violence situation on Tuesday, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. The shooting happened on the 3900 block of 41st Street around 11:30 am or so, Sgt. Kionna Rowe said. A heavy law enforcement presence was in the area of ​​14th Avenue and 41st and 42nd streets. The deputies, seven-year veterans, fired their weapons after the suspect emerged from a home with a gun and while holding his girlfriend hostage, Rowe said. The situation unfolded after 10:10 am when a 911 caller said that she, her boyfriend and their 3-year-old child were in a home and overheard a dispute between the caller’s father and his girlfriend, Rowe said. She added that the caller, who was the man’s daughter, saw her father brandishing a weapon before everyone fled the house except the father and his girlfriend.
