Person found dead at site of RV fire in Sacramento. Police investigating incident as a homicide
A homicide investigation is now underway after a person was discovered dead at the scene of a fire that burned several RVs on Friday afternoon, according to the Sacramento Police Department.The fires started before 3:30 pm on the 7800 block of Brighton Avenue near Power Inn Road and Folsom Blvd., according to the Sacramento Fire Department. The Sacramento Police Department said its officers were dispatched at 3:07 pm to that area after a report of a shooting. Once there, they spotted an RV engulfed in flames.The fires burned through several RVs and then extended to the Home Depot nearby. Crews were able to extinguish the flames, the fire department said. After the flames were put out, first responders discovered a body inside the charred RV. At this time, Sacramento police aren’t releasing information about a possible suspect. Information about the person’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner once family members are notified.It is unknown if there was actual evidence of a shooting, and if it’s connected to the fire.This story is developing.
