Members of Cassadaga Memorial Post 1280 on Monday paid tribute to veterans buried in 11 local cemeteries. The Legion Honor Guard and auxiliary drove to each cemetery, lined up and performed a 21-gun salute. Each stop also included a reading of the meaning of Memorial Day by past commander Bruce Kaus. Chaplain Diane Shaw offered prayer, and James Hayward would call the Honor Guard to attention for the 21-gun salute. Each stop concluded with Ron Boyland playing taps on the trumpet. Stops included Charlotte Center Cemetery, Burnham Hollow Cemetery, Christian Cemetery, Bachellor Hill Cemetery, Stockton Evergreen Cemetery, Stockton Greenwood Cemetery, Union Cemetery in Centralia, Red Bird Cemetery, Pickett’s Corner Cemetery and Cassadaga Cemetery.
