>> MANY WERE SCARED, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE COLORADO SPRINGS SHOOTING, AND RECENT STABBINGS OF FOUR STUDENTS IN IDAHO. BUT SADLY, SOME WEREN’T TOO SURPRISED THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN. THE SCHOOL SAYS THEY’LL BE OFFERING RESOURCES AND SERVICES TO THOSE STRUGGLING. >> YOU COME UP TO THE SCHOOL AND THERE’S TWO HELICOPTERS, POLICE CARS, FIRE ENGINES, AND YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GONG ON. — GOING ON. LITERALLY THAT FEELING IN THE PIT OF YOUR STOMACH, THIS CAN BE HAPPENING. WORST NIGHTMARE EVER. >> THE CAMPUS WENT ON LOCKDOWN, THIS MORNING AFER SCHOOL OFFICALS SAID A THREAT WAS MADE, IN PERSON BY A STUDENT. >> THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE WAS MADE. THE OFFICERS WERE TRYING TO FIND THE INDIVIDUALS. WHEN IT WAS CLEAR THEY COULD NOT FIND THEM, WE ISSUED A LCKDOWN IMMEDIATELY. >> WE SAW LAW ENFORCEMENT WITH GUNS DRAWN SEARCHING CAMPUS >> IN A SITUATION WHERE WE KNOW THE SUSPECT LIKE TODAY, THEY’RE GOING BUILDING BY BUILDING LOOKING FOR THAT SUSPECT AND IDENTIFYING ANY SIGNS THE PERSON WAS THERE. IN THIS CASE, THEY COULDN’T FIND EVIDENCE THE PERSON WAS THERE, IN FACT SOME EVIDENCE THAT HE MAY HAVE LEFT CAMPUS. >> I REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED, HOLY TOLEDO, AND WENT STRAIGHT INTO PRAYING. >> LISA STADE, SAID SHE CONTACTED HER FAMILY, SCARED. >> THEY TOLD US TO STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS, SO I WENT BACK TO MY STUDY AREA. >> ANOTHER STUDENT WAS IN MATH CLASS. >> WE LOCKED THE DOORS, OF COURSE. AND WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE ALL THE STUDENTS, THE HALLWAYS WERE CLEAR OF ANY STUDENTS. WE DID SEE A STUDENT WALKED BY AND WE GRABBED HER INSIDE THE CLASSROOM. >> ALTHOUGH CAMPUS IS BACK OPEN NOW THE IMPACT, OF WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN, IS LEAVING MANY ON EDGE. >> I THINK I’M ACTUALLY GOING TO SLEEP IN THE BED WITH HER TONIGHT. I’M GOING TO CUDDLE HER. WE STILL CUDDLE. WE’RE REALLY CLOSE. THIS WILL BE THE NIGHT WHERE I HANG ON TO HER AND PRAY FOR ALL THE PARENTS WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH THIS AND DIDN’T LEAVE WITH THEIR KID. >> A REALLY SCARY START TO WHAT SHOULD BE THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY WEEK. WE SPOKE TO OTHER FOLKS ON CAMPUS AND OFFICIALS TELL US THERE IS NO MORE THREAT LEFT ON CAMPUS BUT THEY ARE STILL HAVING CLASSES AND SERVICES BE REMOTE FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. Cosumnes River College in Sacramento was put on lockdown for a period on Monday after a person threatened violence against the campus, the Los Rios Community College District said. The system said that police could not yet verify the threat. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our campus community,” a spokesperson for Los Rios told KCRA 3 in a statement around 11 am Law enforcement agencies from across the Sacramento area responded to the campus, which is near Elk Grove. Earlier today, an individual made a threat of violence against the campus at CRC. LRPD cannot yet verify the validity of the threat, so we have locked down the campus as a precaution and alerted students, faculty and staff.
