Driver accused of DUI in Sacramento chase that ended in crash
One person was arrested on Friday afternoon following a police pursuit that ended in a two-vehicle crash that injured a pedestrian in Sacramento, authorities said. The pursuit started around 12:52 pm in the area of Franklin Boulevard and 52nd Street after an officer spotted a driver speeding in a bike lane in the opposite direction and running a red light, the Sacramento Police Department said. The car was found involved in a collision at the intersection of 47th Avenue and Franklin Boulevard.A woman pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.The driver, identified by police as 29-year-old Shasha Adams, was arrested on DUI charges, police said.The California Highway Patrol is investigating exactly what led up to the crash.
