Fresno woman arrested for domestic violence shooting

Jazmine Janay Williams, 31-year-old Fresno woman, was arrested Thursday for a shooting that took place during a domestic violence disturbance, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

The victim in the shooting is in critical condition.

On Jan. 12, 2023, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance complaint at the 3900 block of Teal Run Meadows Drive in Fresno. Upon arrival, they learned Williams had shot the victim.

The victim was transported to the medical center in downtown Houston.

No information was released about the victim, or their relationship with Williams.

Williams has been charged with aggravated assault family violence. She is being held at Fort Bend County Jail, with her bond set at $50,000.

“Domestic violence happens everywhere,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “It’s an issue that can be deadly. If you find yourself in a situation that involves domestic violence, please call your local law enforcement agency.”
