Modesto, California – Our dearest mother, Lupe Amador Cruz, passed away and went to the Lord on August 22, 2022. She was 87 years young.
Lupe was born on February 3, 1935, in Falls City, Texas, to Frank Amador and Guadalupe Amador. She was married to the love of her life, Antonio Aldaco Cruz on August 31, 1952 and they were together for 36 years before his passing.
Lupe and Antonio, raised 6 children in Modesto. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Antonio, three children Anthony Cruz, Catherine Dickson and Lorraine Cruz, six siblings and both of her parents. Her remaining children Sidney Cruz, Jerome Cruz and Lori Robinson will truly miss her laughter, her feistiness, her cooking and her unconditional love. No matter how far apart she was from her family, she knew she was loved and that she loved them.
She loved to crochet, watch her novelas, play gin rummy, listen to music and her family. Her favorite sport team was the Dallas Cowboys, which she rooted for them every Sunday. She built a beautiful family leaving behind her 10 grandchildren Steve Dickson, Sandy Pinedo, Thomas Cruz, Tiffany Schulze, Johnathan Cruz, Joseph Cruz, Tamara Cruz, Jeffrey Cruz, Eric Robinson and Marc Robinson. She also had 8 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, one sister, Vera Cruz and many nieces and nephews. We want to miss everyone.
Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to be providing services for the Cruz family. A Visitation will be held Thursday, September 8 from 10-1pm with a rosary/service at 11:30am. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 9 at Our Lady of Fatima at 11am with a graveside service immediately following the mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
