Oakdale, California – Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother; Passed away on June 18 at age 95 at Oakdale, CA.
Born in Modesto to Davy and Muriel Cole, she attended the first kindergarten class at the new Enslen Elementary School; Roosevelt Jr High School; and Modesto High School – class of 1944.
After graduation, she was hired by The American Trust Co. Bank (which later became part of Wells Fargo), where she worked for 27 years, and met and married the love of her life, Wallace Morrow, who died December 28, 2017.
They enjoyed a long and happy marriage of 72 years and raised three wonderful children.
Pat was happiest spending time with her family, and keeping in touch with out-of-town relatives and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, oil painting, and collecting glass paperweights. Other family activities included bicycling, Sierra backpacking and camping; plus travel to Germany, Scotland, Ireland, Alaska and Hawaii. Other vacations were enjoyed at the Sea Ranch on the Sonoma County Coast.
In 1989, Pat and Wally left their Modesto home and moved to Pine Mountain Lake, Groveland, CA, where they lived for 10 wonderful years before moving to Oakdale, where they lived until her death.
Pat was active in the Parents Club at Stanislaus Union School, where her children attended.
Pat was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She served as a Board Member of the McHenry Mansion Foundation. She also maintained membership with the McHenry Museum, Wells Fargo Retirees Sacramento Club, and the Oakdale Country Club.
She is survived by her children, John D. Morrow, Sunnyvale, CA and Jana Baker (Bob) of Edenton, NC; grandchild, Hannah Baker of Somerville, MA; brother-in-law Albert Sturm and John Stone (companion of Iva Baker), both of Modesto, CA; her loving niece Tami Cosentino (Tom) of Modesto, CA; Niece Serena Baker of Petaluma, CA; also six nephews with numerous great—nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wally and son Dr. Jared R Morrow; her parents and her brother, Robert Cole; two sisters, Beverly Sturm and Iva Baker; her sister-in-laws Evelyn Morrow of Oakdale and Adele Ney of Sonoma, CA; and her daughter-in-law Diana (Junker) Morrow.
Private services are planned at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto, CA.
