Salvation Army gives away 20,000 toys to Sacramento area families in need

On Wednesday, the Salvation Army is giving away 20,000 toys to 5,000 families in need in the Sacramento area. Families who have been pre-selected to get gifts can stop by Cal Expo until 2 pm The Angel Tree Program has been in place for more than 40 years.The Salvation Army said they had a record number of families requesting help with gifts this year because of inflation.Families also received a food box with two weeks’ worth of groceries and an artificial Christmas tree.Cars lined up beginning at 8 amThe Salvation Army said families who would like to be selected for 2023 can reach out again after the New Year.
