Santa Rosa earthquake: Sacramento, Roseville feel Bay Area quake

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — A preliminary magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck north of Santa Rosa, California, Tuesday.

The US Geological Survey says the quake struck around 6:40 pm

It was centered about 2.4 miles north northeast of Santa Rosa and about 66 miles west of Sacramento.

People reported feeling it across the Bay Area and as far as Roseville and Sacramento. There are no immediate reports of damage, but fire crews are responding to gas leaks, fire alarms and stuck elevators. Officials have no reports of any injuries related to the earthquake at this time.
