Search for driver after 83-year-old man killed in Turlock hit-and-run crash

An 83-year-old pedestrian died Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle hit them and drove off, the Turlock Police Department said. The hit-and-run crash in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road was reported at 3:31 pm, police said. It is unknown if the pedestrian, described as a Hispanic man with a last known address in Modesto, was walking along the roadway or was on a sidewalk or crossing the road.Police said they are looking for a 2004 white Acura TL with damage to the windshield and front passenger side. The California license plate for the four-door vehicle is 8LMZ774. The roadway was closed for nearly four hours, police said. Turlock is a city in the southernmost part of Stanislaus County, about 14 miles away from Modesto. The victim’s identity has not yet been released as authorities look to contact his next of kin.
