Solano volleyball picks up pair of wins in Modesto
ROCKVILLE — The Solano Community College women’s volleyball team picked up a pair of wins Friday night in Modesto, beating Modesto Junior College 25-27, 25-18, 23-25, 27-25, 15-10 before getting back on the court 15 minutes later and defeating Porterville College 25-19, 25-8, 25-21.
Sammy Brown had 27 kills against Modesto and was 16-for-17 serving with one ace and 16 digs. Hannah Del Rio added 11 kills with two blocks. Dani Rydjord ran the offense with 42 assists, 15 digs and serving 18-for-21 with five aces.
Crystal Carroll led the defense with 27 digs, serving 28-for-29 with three aces. Kelsey Wall chipped in 20 digs and nine kills. Jailynn Bermudez served 12-for-13 with two aces and chipped in five digs. Eryka Ferrer served 14-for-15, while Lili Ayala added three kills and two blocks.
Brown led the Falcons with 17 kills and 10 digs in the second match. Wall added eight kills, serving 15-for-17 with four aces. Carroll led the defense with 11 digs. Rydjord ran the offense with 30 assists, serving 18-for-19 with three aces. Hannah Del Rio chipped in six kills and three blocks. Codi LePak-Murphy added one kill and one block.
Solano is 4-2 overall and will travel Wednesday to Diablo Valley College for a 2 pm match against DVC and a 4 pm match against Merced.
