Stockton family still searching for answers after deadly stabbing

More than one week after the stabbing death of 23-year-old Lexus Tafoya in Stockton, her family is still searching for answers about what happened.Stockton police said a woman with multiple stab wounds was found in the backseat of a vehicle on the morning of Nov. 10, near Sikh Temple and Fourth streets. The San Joaquin County medical examiner confirmed with KCRA 3 that the identity of that woman was Tafoya. It has been nine days since the murder, but Stockton police have not made any arrests or released any information about a suspect or motive. A spokesperson for the department said Saturday that there are no new updates to the case.With no answers yet, Tafoya’s family decided to take matters into their own hands. Loved ones gathered Saturday afternoon to hold posters with Tafoya’s picture and post flyers on trees pleading with the public to come forward with information.”I want justice for her. I’m not going to stop, and our family is not going to stop, until we get justice,” Tafoya’s aunt Tina Cordova said. “We’re going to get out here and we’re going to do what we can, because no one is doing nothing.”Cordova said she was the one who found Tafoya’s body on Nov. 10. It is a sight she wishes she could forget.”When I opened that door, she was laying here. She was naked with stab wounds all over her, and it looked like they threw her inside the back of the car. They described her as a kind and loving soul, someone who would give someone in need the shirt off her back.
