Stockton officers shoot, kill man threatening others with handgun, police say

Stockton police had responded to the 3300 block of West Hammer Lane after receiving a call from someone who said the suspect was threatening him with a handgun. After the initial call, authorities said the suspect then called Stockton police to tell them he was armed with a firearm. When officers arrived, they began negotiations with the armed suspect. The man then pointed his gun at an “uninvolved citizen,” which is when five Stockton officers fired their weapons and shot the suspect, the police said. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
