Stockton’s Barkley and Kass Earn NJAC Women’s Cross Country Weekly Honors

PITMAN, NJ — The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women’s cross country weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 13.

RUNNER OF THE WEEK

JAELYN BARKLEY • Stockton University
Sophomore • Hope, NJ/Belvidere

Barkley collected her second NJAC Runner of the Week honor of the season after finishing seventh out of 170 competitors in the NCAA Metro Regional at DeSales University on Saturday. The sophomore ran a time of 23:27 on the 6K course and was the top NJAC finisher in the race. With the performance, Barkley became just the third Osprey female in school history and first since Alicia Belko in 2017 to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Lansing, Mich. this Saturday. Barkley also qualified for USTFCCCA All-Region recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

KAYLA KASS • Stockton University
Freshman • Bayonne, NJ/County Prep

Kass was selected NJAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time during her outstanding freshman year. She joined Barkley as a USTFCCCA All-Region runner by finishing 16th at the NCAA Metro Regionals with a time of 24:05. Kass was named NJAC Rookie of the Year and NJAC First Team earlier in the season. Barkley and Kass led Stockton to his best finish ever at an NCAA Regional meet as the Ospreys placed third out of 24 teams over the weekend.
