MELANIE, STILL AN ACTIVE SCENE OR WINDING DOWN NOW? >> IT IS WINDING DOWN SOMEWHAT AND THAT SOME OF THE POLICE LINE THAT WAS SET UP CLOSER TO MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BOULEVARD HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN AND WE ARE A LITTLE CLOSER ON 7TH AVENUE TO WHERE THE ACTUAL SCENE HAPPENED. STILL, POLICE LINEUP RIGHT NEAR THE SCENE AND TO SEVERAL PATROL VEHICLES WRAPPING UP ANY GEAR THEY MIGHT HAVE HAD HERE ON THE GROUND. ALSO INVESTIGATION STILL HAPPENING FROM WHAT WE CAN GATHER. WE WANT TO SHOW YOU THE VIDEO FROM A LITTLE EARLIER FROM THE SCENE, HOW THINGS LOOKED A BIT EARLIER IN THE EVENING. POLICE TELL US THIS ALL STARTED AROUND 4:00 THIS AFTERNOON WHEN THEY RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT A SHOOTING HAPPENING IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. WHEN POLICE ARRIVED, THE SUSPECT REFUSED TO COME OUT. AT TIMES DURING THE STANDOFF, POLICE COULD BE HEARD OVER A LOUDSPEAKER NEGOTIATING, AND TALKING WITH THE SUSPECT. TRYING TO COAX THAT PERSON OUT AND AGAIN, AS REPORTED, AT THE TOP OF THIS NEWSCAST JUST AFTER 10:00 TONIGHT THAT SUSPECT WAS DETAINED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE SUSPECT ALL WE KNOW RIGHT NOW IS THAT IT WAS AN ADULT FEMALE WHO HAS BEEN DETAINED. POLICE SAY PEACEFULLY AND ALL OF THIS. AT ONE POINT WE KNOW AS LIVECOPTER3 CAPTURED OVERHEAD POLICE HAD TACTICAL GEAR OUT. THEY WERE REDY JUST IN CASE THINGS ESCALATED BY TOBACCO HERE LIVE WE DO NOT HAPPEN TO KNOW — BUT BACK OUT HERE LIVE WE DON’T KNOW WHETHER THERE WAS A SHOOTING VICTIM, THAT IS UNCLEAR AT THIS POINT. POLICE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LET US KNOW THAT INFORMATION. SACRAMENTO POLICE SAYING THEY’LL HAVE ANOTHER UPDATE FOR US TOMORROW. Sacramento police on Monday said they safely detained a woman after an hourslong standoff in the Oak Park area. Officers got a call about a shooting just before 4 p.m. at the 3900 block of 7th Avenue, the Sacramento Police Department said. Officers believe the woman detained is who fired that gun.That person was inside a home for much of Monday evening before officers managed to take her into custody around 10:10 pm There are no reports of injuries related to the shooting or standoff.Roads near where the standoff happened were closed while officers were at the scene. It is unknown what led to the shooting.
