2022 Young ATHENA Award recipient Jamie Bossuat surprised with honor

Jamie Bossuat stood confused in the corridor of her Stockton law firm’s office after her husband, Josh, had just pulled her out of a meeting.

But that confusion disappeared when she saw the group of people in the lobby waiting for her.

That was when Timm Quinn, CEO of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, broke the news that Bossuat was the 2022 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recipient.

“I was shocked but I’m so proud to have been selected and thankful,” said Bossuat, a shareholder at Kroloff, Belcher, Smart, Perry & Christopherson.

The mother of two young children is active in numerous community organizations. Among them: she is a board member of Pixie Woods, she is vice president of Legislative Affairs for San Joaquin Society for Human Resources and executive board vice president for the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce

Bossuat is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Stockton, 2018 chair of Stockton Parks and Recreation Commission, and chair for the San Joaquin County Bar Association Women’s Lawyers section committee.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bossuat hosted free webinars via Zoom from March 2020 through February 2022 for the business community and employers, providing them with real-time information about COVID-19 regulations, advice, and more.

Allison Cherry Lafferty, managing shareholder for Kroloff, Belcher, Smart, Perry & Christopherson, who nominated Bossuat for the award, described her as someone who is “dedicated, persistent, and hardworking.”

“I think that she does definitely embody the young professional who takes the time both for her family and to give back to the community. So, she’s raising two young children, a 6- and a 4-year-old, very active, very busy lawyer, that takes a ton of time, but she also finds time to be involved,” Lafferty said.

For the past more than three decades, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce has presented the ATHENA awards to individuals in San Joaquin County honoring their dedication to serving the community.
