Here is a round-up of Veterans Day parades and other events to honor veterans and their families that are happening in the Greater Sacramento area on Friday. Capitol Parade A parade in Sacramento will have a “Welcome Home” ceremony for the first time in more than 50 years. It will honor hometown heroes of the 319th Signal Battalion. The Veterans Affiliated Council will honor 99-year-old World War II veteran Jose Ortiz. It will also celebrate Latino and Hispanic contributions to the armed services. The parade starts at 11 am at the Crocker Art Museum, with a ceremony from 1 pm to 2 pm Mayor Darrell Steinberg and Rep. Doris Matsui are among those scheduled to attend. West Sacramento ParadeIn West Sacramento, the Veterans Day Parade will run through Westmore and State streets. It begins at 10 am and runs through noon. Elk Grove ParadeA Veterans Day parade returns to Elk Grove for the first time in three years. Ceremonies begin at 10 am at the Cosumnes Community Services District. The parade will kick off from there at 11 am and end at Elk Grove Park. Stockton Veterans Day TributeThe United Veterans Council of San Joaquin County is holding an event at The Bob Hope Theater in Stockton to honor veterans at 10:45 am The keynote speaker is Army veteran Capt. West Sacramento parade
