Man, woman found dead outside Modesto home, officials say

Stanislaus County deputies found two people dead outside of a Modesto home Thursday afternoon after a report of a shooting, officials said.Video above: Top headlines for October 20, 2022Dispatchers got a call around 1:45 pm about a person shot in the 1500 block of Imperial Avenue, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office said. While deputies were on the way, another caller reported that someone shot her mother.When deputies got to the home, they found a man lying outside the home near the roadway and a woman on the front yard of the same home, the sheriff’s office said . Both were declared dead at the scene. The cause of death is unknown, but the sheriff’s office said a firearm was near the man and woman. It is also not known if the two knew each other. There is a road closure near where the home deputies are at, the sheriff’s office said. Another woman and infant were at the home at the time and were transported to the hospital as a precaution even though the sheriff’s office said they appear uninjured.No other details were released.
