Marty passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, at home at the age of 81.
Marty was born in Fresno, CA in 1941, where he lived his entire life. He started his work career while going to school at the early age of 13 delivering orders for his family’s store, Seiberts Grocery. He often bragged about getting his driver’s license so early. Marty graduated from Roosevelt high school in 1959, after graduation he worked the remainder of his career at the Fresno Bee “McClatchy Newspaper”. He quickly moved up the ranks from a dispatch delivery driver to Add Creation, Design Center & Prepress Manager. He retired from the Fresno Bee after 45 years of service at the age of 65. Marty spent most of his free time fishing, hunting, traveling the states, cruising to tropical locations with Starla, helping friends & family with projects, and enjoying his twin grandsons. He loved gardening, watching Yellowstone, or eating his favorite foods. Marty lived life his way and to the fullest without regret.
Marty is survived by his fiancé Starla Crist; His son Martin Arnold III and his wife Nancy, grandson Dustin Arnold, great-grandsons Hudson Arnold and Dustin Arnold Jr; His daughter Debra Arnold Haro and her husband Steven Haro, twin grandsons Cody and Kyle Arnold Haro; His sister Saundra Jordan and her husband Richard; The entire Jizmejian family, many nieces, nephews, and Arnold & Mandarich cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Martin William Arnold Sr., his mother Helen Mandarich Garabedian her husband Michael Garabedian, and Starla’s Parents Joie and Al Jizmejian.
The family is grateful for the outpouring of support from so many people who loved and cherished Marty and the family. A Celebration of Life for Marty will be held on August 11th at South Point Church 5391 E. Tulare Ave Fresno, at 11:00 am.
