A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT LAST YEAR’S WEATHER, THE BOMB CYCLONE THAT FORCED THE CANCELATION OF RACES. A DELUGE OF RAIN FELL AND IT ONLY GOT WORSE ON RACE DAY. PEOPLE HAD TO HANG UP THEIR DREAMS OF DOING IRONMAN LAST YEAR. WE TALKED TO SOME ATHLETES DOING MAINTENANCE RUNS TRYING TO STAY LOOSE. The race will also temporarily impact traffic in downtown and midtown Sacramento.

On Friday, L Street is closed between 10th and 15th Street, while N Street is closed between 7th and 15th streets.

Starting 8 am Saturday, Capitol Mall from 8th Street to 9th Street will be closed until 1 pm Monday.
