Sacramento man accused of deadly 2020 shooting

The Sacramento Police announced Thursday that it has linked a deadly shooting on Sept. 25, 2020, to a man who already happened to be in custody in Nevada.Previous coverage in the video player aboveTreace Palmer, 20, of Sacramento will face homicide charges in connection with the shooting and will be extradited back to Sacramento, police said. Palmer was in custody at the Washoe County Jail for an unrelated charge when investigators identified him as the suspected gunman.Police said they got a call about a shooting around 1 am at a Natomas-area complex in the 2600 block of Stonecreek Drive. Officers who went to the area found a man and woman who were shot and gave them medical aid. Fire department personnel transported both victims to hospitals, and the woman later died of her injuries, police said. The man survived the shooting. The woman was later identified as 19-year-old Sarayah Redmond. Six months after the shooting, the police department released surveillance footage of a group of people they believe are connected to the crime. The video shows four people, all wearing hoodies, walking into the apartment complex gate at 12:29 am At 12:55 am, police were seen driving into the complex.It is unknown if Palmer was among that group of hooded people.
