The holiday weekend should be much cooler than the beginning of this week.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — June is coming to a close in Northern California and the weather will start out on a hot note this week.
Highs on Monday will be well above the average of 91 degrees and top out near 100 degrees or hotter. There is no specific heat warning or advisory but it goes without saying that you still need to be prepared for hot afternoons.
Tuesday will also be near 100 degrees for most locations but will retain nice morning temperatures in the low 60s.
Wednesday begins a nice cooling trend with highs moving into the mid-90s and more on the way.
Thursday we cool to the low 90s then Friday the real cooling begins. From Friday through the Fourth of July on Monday the high temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 80s. These temperatures will be below average for this time of year and very pleasant. Far Northern California will also see a chance of light rain Sunday.
