As the season is winding down, UNLV will travel to Fresno State for a Mountain West matchup. The Rebels are 23-3 this season with a conference record of 14-1. Despite the stellar season the team is having, it hasn’t received any votes toward the top 25 rankings. On Thursday, the Rebels picked up their 14th win in a row when they beat San Diego State in straight sets. Junior Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos had a match-high 12 kills in the victory and Jhenna Gabriel’s 28 assists were a match-high, as well. Gabriel also recorded nine digs in the game defensively.

The Bulldogs are struggling this season with an overall record of 7-20 and a conference record of 1-14 to put them in last place in the conference. While the team did break a 13-game losing streak by beating Boise State, a winning streak was not to be had as the Bulldogs lost the very next game to San Diego State on Monday in straight sets. With all three of the team’s remaining games coming against teams in the top five in conference standings, it is unlikely that Fresno State will win any more games this season without a lot of luck.

When these two teams met earlier this season, UNLV won in straight sets.
