West Sacramento toy drive serves 900 families

The Yolo County Children’s Alliance hosted its annual toy distribution for families in need on Saturday morning in West Sacramento. Over 900 families were able to claim holiday items by either walking up or driving through the toy distribution. Jeneba Lahi, an affiliate of the Yolo County Children’s Alliance, said that the event is important because West Sacramento is one of the lowest-income areas in West Sacramento and there are a lot of people in need that benefit from the distribution. “This is very important every year for me as I’m a mother of three girls,” said Jordan Villafuerte, who attended the distribution. “They are everything to me and I literally slept in my car overnight just for this.” Toys were given to families but so were health kits, including items such as Tylenol, thermometers and COVID tests. Free vaccines for covid and influenza were also offered on Saturday. See more in the video above.
